The Rhode Island Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is committed to promoting an environment in which the deaf and hard of hearing in Rhode Island are afforded equal opportunity in all aspects of their life. The RI CDHH develops policy, initiates and lobbies for favorable legislation, and promotes general awareness about Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) rights to equal access.
The CDHH Interpreter Referral Service provides specialized interpreters for a variety of settings and events throughout the state of Rhode Island. The Interpreter referral service does not charge a fee for coordinating interpreter services. The interpreters that are referred are independent vendors with specialized skills (CDI, Oral, Deafblind, Cued Speech, etc.).
