The Department of Mental Health, Retardation & Hospitals funds, develops and administers a system of services for many of the state’s citizens with disabilities. They serve individuals with long-term chronic illness, persons with serious and persistent mental health issues, individuals with developmental disabilities and persons with chronic substance abuse problems.
